The Joy of Getting Older
Well, for the first time in my history I've done something to my knee. I was playing basketball last night, cut to the right and went up for a shot and something in my right knee popped. I can still walk, but it feels swollen (inside) and is aching. Hopefully my Dr. has time this morning to get me in. I expect to have to go somewhere for an MRI or something like that . . . ugh! I don't want to have to give that (basketball) up. I still really enjoy playing. Send your positive thoughts and prayers my way!

Sorry to hear about it...hopefully it is just inflammation and nothing torn. I've had a sore foot for 18 months now since I was so crazy and ran too much. Best of luck at the doctors.
I deleted my last comment because I misspelled a word...didn't know it'd leave a tag up there saying that I had deleted something.... So, now you all know I forgot how to spell something.
Anyway, I'm sorry to hear about your knee, Erik. Hopefully if you can walk then it's not too horribly serious. Let us know what you find out when you see the doctor. You could always borrow Stuart's knee brace. :)
We have had a lot of experience with knees in this family. If you need any past experience, e-mail Stu, Timm, Jared or me. I hope it is just strained and inflamed. Let us know what the doctor says.Good Luck!
Well, I went to my "primary care physician" yesterday. He believes there's not significant structural damage, but I definitely have fluid build up from an injury. He suspects a cartilage tear, so he's sending me to an orthopedic doctor for a more thorough diagnosis. So, we'll see . . .
Good luck. I had a friend that tore her...and I'm going to butcher the word....miniscus (?). She had to have surgery because once the tear healed, there was scar tissue that had to be cleaned out. Fun stuff. You can still walk OK, right?
Well, I visited the doctor today. My knee is "structurally sound" and "likely won't require surgery of any kind" but "we should probably do on MRI to confirm." The doctor thinks that it's probably a strained ACL and a cartilage issue. So, in about a week I should know for how long I can't do anything really fun . .
Glad to hear it will probably be fine! See, you're not that old...yet...
