Strange How Things Work Out or Don't

I spoke with the recruiting firm that's been after me for a VP of Marketing job in Quincy, Illinois. Turns out the guy they had previously identified to take the job (I had interviewed with the placement firm after they'd ID'd him and found that he may not be able to take the job due to non-job-related issues) was not able to move to Quincy to take the position. Then I was to be presented as one of two possible alternatives for the job and the other person (a woman) was found to have misrepresented herself -- so she was eliminated from consideration. Then another person was identified and he suffered an unexpected heart attack and died. So, the company asking for the executive search has decided to re-start the process from ground zero. So, while I'm still on the list -- the process will take much longer than expected originally. I don't expect to hear back from the recruiting firm until after the holidays. Interesting . . . But, the timing (if it does work out) will actually be better given school year, bonus payout, etc.

Strange how things work out . . . . or don't . . . who knows . . .
